DIY: Swarovski Crystal Drop Earrings

I have to warn you… these earrings are a little bit of a pain in the butt to make.

That said, they are totally worth it.

You’ll spend less than $10 making them, (and maybe 1/2 hour) and everyone will think they are DANNIJO or some other fancypants brand.  In this case, I was inspired by this pair of Loren Hope earrings… I’ve seen earrings like this before but loved that they used box chain vs. a more simple chain… box chain is my favorite chain right now – is it nerdy that I have a favorite?

The Prettiest Summer Beauty Products (Possibly Ever)

Clarins-Summer2

When Clarins summer “Splendours” Collection landed on my desk, my reaction was quite possibly the girliest “EEEEEEK!” you’ve ever heard.  I’m not ashamed.  Beauty products make me giddy and this bronzing / glow-inducing combination made me especially happy (especially as I’m looking a little bit pasty…  have been spending entirely too much time indoors.)

The bronzing powder is my new favorite bronzer.  It gives you the most insane, instant glow.  The compact is oversized (probably 40% larger than your standard compact) and that immediately makes it feel a bit more luxe/special/fun to hold in your hand; but I love the effect that the three different colors (especially the shimmery gold in the center) have when blended together using a big fluffy brush.  I obviously use this on (all over) my face, but also a bit on my collarbone, decollate, + shoulders.

And oh… the shimmer body oil!  I slick just the littlest bit on my collarbone + and front of my legs when I’m wearing a dress for that supermodel-esque (at least in my own mind) shine.  I love this stuff… possibly a bit too much.  It also smells heavenly… in a faint, not wearing any perfume sort of way.

SF Snaps + Fun Announcement!

One of the things I’ve loved most about blogging has been that I’ve gotten much more handy with my camera.  I shoot all of my photos (except for outfits, which are shot by the talented Lydia) with my Canon Rebel T3I.  While my photography skills are still pretty basic (I shoot in manual) it is something I truly enjoy doing and really look forward to.  I’m pretty basic – I always shoot in natural light, and the only other piece of equipment I own is a macro lense (great for getting close-ups when I’m shooting my DIYs!)

For that reason, I was really excited when Adobe Photoshop Elements invited me to be part of a five month partnership.  To kick things off, they flew myself + four other bloggers out to San Francisco last weekend, where we experienced a jam-packed weekend and a day of workshops to teach us all the latest + greatest from Elements.

Anyway, I snapped these photos during the trip (and edited ‘em using Elements.)  I can’t wait for the coming months, where I’ll be sharing tutorials, Elements-based DIY projects, and more!

On a side note, I fell even more in love with SF!
