DIY: Crystal Loafers.

DIY Jeweled Slippers

Loafers, loafers, and more loafers. I’m loving the loafer trend for Fall (though I hate calling it a trend because loafers are more of a classic item… they never go out of style.) The best way to spruce up a classic? Just add sparkle! I made mine in (winter?) white, but there are endless options. I like staying within a color family (i.e smoky quartz crystals on a gray loafer, clear pink on a pink or rose gold loafer, clear on white, and so on + so forth.) Otherwise the effect is just a tad too blingy for my personal taste.

This is one of my easiest DIY projects to date, making it perfect for beginners. If you don’t believe me, watch the video.. it’s under a minute long. All you need are a pair of loafers or moccasins (I used this exact pair, but if I were to do it again I am utterly obsessed with these in the neutral “biscotti” hue), Swarovski crystals, and some trusty E6000 glue.

One quick note… when you’re done, stuff the toe of your loafer with a sock or newspaper to ensure that the crystals dry evenly. Happy crafting.

  5. Anna:

Love this! I’ve always loved loafers, but admittedly I do think they can look a bit boring. What a great (and easy way for the DIY-impaired folks like myself!) to make them exponentially more interesting!
