DIY: Erickson Beamon inspired Rose Garden Bib Necklace

Today’s DIY is a little bit more complex than usual, but worth it.  The original retails for over $1,000 and the supplies to make this will run you under $40… so, yeah.  Erickson Beamon is one of my favorite jewelry designers, but the price-points have always been a bit steep for my liking.  I fell in love with their Rose Garden Bib Necklace and quickly realized that it wouldn’t be so hard to make my own little version of it.  I’m so pleased with the end result.  While it isn’t identical to the real thing, it looks pretty great and makes quite the statement.  I paired it below with a little sundress but I can’t wait to layer it under the collar of a white blouse.

Your local bead store and/or Etsy will have a huge selection of rosettes… so you can get creative with the colors.

Materials / Where to Buy:  E6000 Glue // 9 Rosettes // Pliers // Jump Rings // 17mm Gold Chain

Gold Craft Wire // Rhinestones in their settings // Backings to glue to rosettes // Lobster Clasp

Begin by making your charms.  Form small pieces of wire into a shape like the top left image.  Apply a drop of E6000 glue to your metal disk.  Press on the wire, and then the rosette.

Repeat nine times, for each rosette… and allow to dry overnight.

 Once dry, link each charm together using a jump ring.

Using a small amount of E6000 glue, adhere your rhinestones to the rosettes.  Allow to dry.

Link a piece of chain to each side, using your jump rings.  Then, link a large jump ring to one side and a clasp to the other.

You are done!

{I’m also wearing my DIY Fallon inspired earrings + Maya Brenner initial necklace.}

    You should rename your blog to “She’s Crafty” in honor of both the Beastie Boys and your awesomeness.

    What a clever way to reverse-engineer the Erickson Beamon necklace!  You definitely channeled the feel of the original.  I love it.  Hope you’re having fun on your trip!
