James Perse Tee // Free Press Scarf // 7 for All Mankind Jeans // Jessica Simpson pumps
(all c/o Nordstrom Rack)
I have partnered up with Nordstrom Rack for a fun little styling challenge. The challenge? Three head to toe looks (including the shoes!) on a $500 budget. The theme for the first look was “Gameday Glam,” but to be honest, I’m not a big sports fan. So I opted to put together a chic casual look that I’d wear to work or out with friends… (or yes, to watch the game at the local dive bar.) I stuck with a simple monochromatic palette, in soft shades of white and gray. I’d been on the hunt for a pair of great gray jeans and these are just perfect. The James Perse tee is incredibly soft (new fave) and I have to hand it to Jessica Simpson… she makes a great pair of shoes. I’ll be running all over the city in these bad boys. They’re incredibly comfortable and will look amazing with black tights once the temps cool down.
I have to say, I was a little bit nervous about this challenge. I wanted to make sure I chose pieces I’d wear again and again afterward. I’m feeling a little tired of fast fashion these days, and my experience with off-price retailers is that I usually end up buying pieces I regret purchasing later. That said, I had a great experience shopping at Nordstrom Rack. They have brands I trust & love (to name a few… 7 for All Mankind, Paige Denim, BCBG, and Vince) in styles I’ll keep and wear.
